Officers spread kindness through outreach initiatives

EMPD officers dedicated 67 minutes to community upliftment initiatives, embracing Madiba’s values through acts of kindness.

The EMPD across its various regions embraced the spirit of Nelson Mandela Day by dedicating 67 minutes of service to honour Madiba’s legacy on July 18.

EMPD officers participated in community outreaches and small acts of kindness aimed at making a positive impact, in line with the global call to serve and uplift others in remembrance of Mandela’s values.

“Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice,” Mandela once said, a quote that guided the department’s efforts on the day.

The EMPD said it remained committed to community engagement and building safer, more compassionate neighbourhoods through meaningful service.
