Norkem Park SAPS arrest man for possession of suspected Mandrax
A 39-year-old man was apprehended by Norkem Park SAPS after officers discovered 20 suspected Mandrax tablets in his possession.
On September 18, Norkem Park SAPS members arrested a 39-year-old man for possession of drugs.
At approximately 05:45, an officer from the Benoni K9 Unit was patrolling along Bloekom Curve when he noticed a suspicious man entering one of the yards.
According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Portia Mkhondo, the officer approached the suspect, who attempted to quickly close the gate upon seeing the police.

A transparent plastic bag containing 20 tablets suspected to be Mandrax was found in the man’s pocket.
The 39-year-old Nigerian national was immediately arrested and informed of his constitutional rights on the scene.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of drugs.

“This arrest sends a clear message that Norkem Park SAPS will continue to act against criminal activities in our precinct,” said Mkhondo.
