Ivory Park residents join Gauteng domestic violence awareness session

The Gauteng Legislature and EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit engage residents to strengthen responses against domestic violence and protect vulnerable community members.

The Gauteng Legislature Community Safety Forum, in partnership with the EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit, recently hosted a public engagement session on domestic violence at Lord Khanyile Community Hall in Ivory Park.

“The primary objective of this session was to evaluate the effectiveness of current interventions, identify sustainable solutions, and strengthen the response to reduce the prevalence of domestic violence within communities across the province,” said EMPD spokesperson Thabiso Makgato.

Officers attending the session emphasised the importance of intergovernmental coordination and community involvement in enhancing safety and protecting vulnerable members of society.
