According to group leader Andre Jansen, the group applied for permission to stage a peaceful protest at a Pomona intersection but their application was declined. “As a result, we gathered on the pavement next to the Radisson Hotel in Pomona, in front of the Bredell Primary School entrance,” Jansen said. The protest is expected to run until just before midday. Jansen said the group has received donations of food items from local businesses and community members to support the day’s activities. In exchange, participants have been asked to donate pet food, which will be handed over to the Kempton Park SPCA. Local businesses have also sponsored bread rolls, boerewors, charcoal, and braai stands for the event. Jansen added that the group has invited political parties in Ward 25 to attend, although the Power To Us movement describes itself as non-political and focused solely on service delivery issues. #kemptonpark #kempton #TiktokNews #localnews #kemptonexpress #Protest #cityofekurhuleni ♬ original sound – KemptonExpress
