Memorial service held for murdered principal and administrator

Family members described Nozibele Tabu and Nobantu Njomboni as dedicated professionals whose loss will be deeply felt.

Enxiweni Primary School hosted a memorial service on November 26 for its principal, Nozibele Tabu (58), and school administrator Nobantu Njomboni (55).

The service took place at Tembisa Family Christian Church in Hospital View.

Tabu and Njomboni were killed in a double murder on November 18, a crime that has left the Thembisa community in shock.

Gauteng police have since arrested four suspects. Two of the accused are currently undergoing bail application hearings at the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court, with their next appearance scheduled for December 1.

Family members described the two women as dedicated professionals whose loss will be deeply felt.

Speaking on behalf of the Tabu family, a relative said Nozibele’s impact was evident in the outpouring of support:

“We also came as a family, and although we did not expect this tragedy, we find healing in your presence. As we say our goodbyes to our sister, she will forever remain in our hearts. We are grateful to every single person who came to support us as the AmaMpondo family.”

Njomboni’s family shared similar sentiments, remembering her as a loving mother and committed professional.

“Our mother was born in the Eastern Cape and later moved to Gauteng to pursue her life plans. That is how she became a school administrator. She was a mother who gave us love and support. We are gathered here to honour her memory, and we will forever cherish her legacy. May her soul rest in peace.”
