The City of Ekurhuleni confirmed its technicians are working “around the clock to repair electrical infrastructure damaged during adverse weather in Kempton Park”.

Spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said while power has been restored to several areas, work is still underway in the following suburbs:

• Birch Acres
• Terenure
• Kempton Park West
• Van Riebeeck Park
• Edleen
• Bredell
• Kempton Park CBD
• Kempton Park Extensions
• Parts of Esther Park
• Rhodesfield (Extensions)
• Spartan
• Parts of Cresslawn

The city has given an estimated restoration time of 22:00 tonight, but said every effort will be made to restore supply sooner.
