EMPD conducts homeless profiling and safety awareness operation in Thembisa

The EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit carried out a profiling exercise in Phomolong, Thembisa, to assess the needs of homeless individuals and promote personal and community safety.

The EMPD’s Social Crime Prevention Unit conducted an awareness and profiling operation involving homeless individuals in Thembisa on January 12.

The operation took place at the corner of Andrew Mapheto Drive and Nyathi Street in the Phomolong section of Thembisa.

According to the EMPD, the purpose of the initiative was to profile homeless individuals in order to determine their origins and the reasons for their homelessness.

The information gathered will be used to either reunite individuals with their families or place them in appropriate care facilities.

During the operation, officers also engaged with pedestrians in the area, providing safety tips and raising awareness around personal and community safety.
