Three arrested as police recover stolen vehicles in robbery probe

Three suspects aged 31 to 56 years were arrested and detained at Dunnotar SAPS while the vehicle was impounded for used in the commission of a crime.

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects, recovered a motor vehicle and a truck trailer on February 2 and 4.

On February 3, at around 13:00, members returned to security reaction vehicles at Northmead Square after a white Volkswagen Polo Sedan was flagged by community cameras.

The vehicle was swiftly cornered at the exit to the mall, whereupon it was alleged that the vehicle was used in a bank robbery following Springs and the victim was robbed in a Dunnotar case on February 2.

Three suspects aged 31 to 56 years were arrested and detained at Dunnotar SAPS, while the vehicle was impounded for use in the commission of a crime.

In further policing, a white BMW was recovered at Ethafeni Section, Thembisa, reported hijacked in Birch Acres, and an interlink truck trailer was recovered at Woodpecker Street, Mackenzie Park, reported hijacked on a Sundra case.

Investigation continues in these cases.

The suspects will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Courts facing charges of robbery.
