SPARK Kempton Park celebrates World Art Day with Parent Picasso sip and paint event

The initiative aimed to strengthen parent engagement and foster meaningful relationships within the school community.

In celebration of World Art Day on February 12, SPARK Kempton Park hosted a vibrant Parent Picasso event, inviting parents to join teachers after school for a relaxed “sip and paint” session.

The initiative aimed to strengthen parent engagement and foster meaningful relationships within the school community.

A warm and creative atmosphere filled the venue as parents and teachers painted side by side, sharing conversation, laughter and connection through art.

The event not only encouraged creativity but also reinforced the importance of collaboration between home and school.

The completed artworks will be proudly displayed in the school’s reception area as a lasting reminder of the strong partnerships nurtured within the community.

Assistant Principal Nyakallo Mdlalose said the initiative reflects the school’s commitment to creating an environment where parents feel welcomed, valued and involved.

“Parent engagement is a key part of a scholar’s success, and this was a beautiful way to bring our school community together.
“Seeing parents and teachers creating art side by side reminded us that learning and connection do not only happen in the classroom,” said Mdlalose.

SPARK Kempton Park thanked all parents who attended and contributed to making the afternoon both inspiring and memorable.
