EMPD confiscates goods from illegal hawkers in Kempton Park
Items confiscated during the operation included cooking pots with pap and meat inside, empty catering pots, bags of oranges, chairs, tables, cooler boxes, braai stands, spoons used for eating, toolboxes with spanners and dust bins belonging to the municipality, were all confiscated from illegal traders.
EMPD By-Law Compliance and Enforcement Unit officers confiscated goods from unregistered hawkers during a by-law enforcement operation conducted along the R25 opposite Serengeti in Kempton Park on July 15.
The operation was carried out along Axle Drive, Industrial Road, Putfontein and the Serengeti area by the EMPD’s By-Law Compliance and Enforcement Unit.

Items confiscated from illegal traders included cooking pots containing pap and meat, empty catering pots, bags of oranges, chairs, tables, cooler boxes, braai stands, eating utensils, toolboxes containing spanners and municipal dustbins.
All confiscated goods were taken to the Kempton Park EMPD pound for safekeeping.
“This kind of operation will continue throughout the City of Ekurhuleni to ensure that every trader or hawker is complying with the law,” said EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.
