Learners, teachers and FHR representatives attended the launch at Tembisa West Secondary School.

The Human Rights Schools Clubs will be rolled out across nine provinces in South Africa, with more schools expected to join in the coming months.

The clubs are part of the #KeepItConstitutional Campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of upholding South Africa’s constitution and protecting human rights.

“By creating a platform for students to learn about human rights and engage in activism, we hope to empower the next generation of human rights defenders in South Africa,” said Mamashoabate Noko, the head of the community engagement programme at FHR.

Schools that show significant impact through their Human Rights Schools Club activities will be eligible to win prize money as part of the #KeepItConstitutional Campaign.
