Motus backs Aston Manor Primary sport with new sponsorship
Motus Automobile Retail visited Aston Manor Primary School to hand over rugby apparel and equipment.
Motus Automobile Retail has partnered with Aston Manor Primary School, marking the beginning of a new relationship aimed at supporting and developing school sport.
The partnership was officially launched on April 14 with the handover of rugby kits and field equipment to the school’s rugby teams.
While the initial focus is on rugby, the long-term goal is to extend support to all sporting codes at the school.
The sponsorship is expected to improve access to quality kit and equipment and to contribute to a more holistic sporting environment for learners.

Head of sports Henry Mostert welcomed the partnership, highlighting its impact on the school’s sporting programme.
“We are incredibly excited to have partnered with Motus Automobile Retail. This sponsorship allows us to enhance the quality of our sports programmes and provide learners with the best possible platform to showcase their talents and abilities,” he said.
The sponsorship includes new match kits branded by Motus, training equipment such as balls and coaching materials, and support for branding and logistics during home fixtures and inter-primary festivals.
Mostert said the partnership was formed through a shared vision of community development. He noted the school’s recent athletics success and the growth of its rugby programme as factors that attracted the sponsor.

Motus Automobile Retail franchise executive Abbie Legodi said the decision to partner with the school was driven by a desire to give back to the community.
“We are proud to sponsor Aston Manor Primary School and support its sporting programmes. Today we handed over rugby kits, which we believe will give the learners comfort and a sense of pride when representing their school,” said Legodi.
“The partnership came about through engagement with the school’s head of sports. We recognised the need and saw an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.”
The sponsorship is expected to ease financial pressure on both the school and parents, particularly as rising costs have made it increasingly difficult to maintain quality equipment and apparel.
Mostert said that, as a public school, securing funding for sports programmes has been an ongoing challenge.
“In the past, we often had to make do with older equipment or rely on additional contributions from parents and the community. This sponsorship allows us to focus more on coaching and developing our players,” he said.
He added that partnerships such as this are vital in the current economic climate.
“Sponsorships are the lifeblood of school sport. Schools cannot operate in isolation, and partnerships with corporate organisations help bridge the gap between participation and competing at a higher level,” said Mostert.

Head boy and first-team rugby captain Notsa Vilakazi said the sponsorship has already had a positive impact on the learners.
“This means a lot to me and the school. It’s our first sponsor in a long time, and we are very grateful. It motivates us to work harder because we are also representing the brand,” he said.
The partnership has been warmly received by the school community, with increased pride among learners and growing parental support.
The introduction of new kit and equipment has also contributed to improved attendance at fixtures.
Aston Manor Primary School expressed its appreciation for the support, noting that the sponsorship will play a key role in helping learners grow and succeed in sport.
