I would like to comment on the letter in the February 27 edition, “Park in Rhodesfield will eventually be fenced”.
Firstly, the park is not on Gladiator Street but rather encircled by four streets, namely Mars Street, Catalina Avenue, Mosquito Street and Constellation Street.
Our business operates from two premises on two of the streets, namely the main offices on Mars Street and the other on Catalina Avenue. We have on the odd occasion parked our vehicles on Mars Street next to the park on the curb of the road while vehicles are being moved out of the yard.
Our drivers walk through the park on a daily basis between the two premises and because there are cars parked in the park, it is then assumed that they are our cars being parked there.
It must also be noted that the second-hand car dealerships on Mars Street and Catalina Avenue, along with the new car dealerships on Catalina Avenue on the other side of Pretoria Road, park their vehicles in the park while they are cleaning their display area.
New vehicles with signage are also being parked in the park and the parking area next to the park.
We would like the correct facts to be published as this puts our company in a bad light in the community.
