The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department is failing the community of Kempton Park. The traffic lights on Zuurfontein Avenue in Chloorkop have not been functioning for months and creates huge traffic jams.
The problem is made worse by the roadworks taking place there with no progress being evident.
Common sense dictates that the traffic lights need to be manned by traffic cops during peak periods. The sad thing is that they would rather prefer to man spots where they benefit financially.
I am wondering what the role of the leadership of this department is. Should they not be dispatching cops to this area to serve the community that pays their salaries?
