Mrs Bann: Thank you to absolutely everyone

Ek wil baie dankie sê vir die hele Kemptonpark gemeenskap, die GPF, polisie, metropolisie, ambulansdienste, brandweer, stadsraad, sekuriteitsmaatskappye, Avbob, Pick n Pay, Spar en almal wat gehelp het na die skietvoorval op Saterdag, 11 Julie, en die Sondag daarna.

Baie dankie aan al die persone wat die gedenkdienste bygewoon het Sondag en Donderdag, 16 Julie.

Dankie vir almal wat op 12 Julie eer betoon het en die optog bygewoon het. Dit maak my hart so bly om te sien hoeveel mense omgegee het vir Martiens en hom liefgehad het.

Baie dankie vir die boodskappe, blomme, kaartjies, oproepe, vinnige inloer, gebede, ondersteuning en bywoning van die begrafnis.

Ek wil net baie, baie, baie dankie sê vir almal, almal, almal.

Dit is nie net ek wat my man Martiens verloor het nie, maar almal in en om Kemptonpark het ook ’n pa, oupa, broer, familielid, kennis, vriend, buurman, kollega en die “spietkop-oom” verloor.

I would like to thank the whole community of Kempton Park, the CPF, police, metro police, ambulance services, fire brigade, metro, security companies, Avbob, Pick n Pay, Spar and everyone else who assisted after the shooting incident on Saturday, July 11, and the Sunday thereafter too.

Thank you to all who attended the memorial services on the Sunday and the following Thursday, July 16.

Thank you to those who honoured Martiens by joining the procession on July 12. It makes me happy to see how many people cared for and loved Martiens.

Thank you for the messages, flowers, cards, phone calls, quick visits, prayers, support and funeral attendance.

I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to each and everyone.

I not only lost a husband but everyone in and around Kempton Park also lost a father, grandfather, brother, family member, friend, neighbour, colleague and the “spietkop man”.
