MR CLIVE SWAN of Bonaero Park writes:
I’ve noticed the wonderful humanitarian spirit of Kempton Park residents when incidents of personal adversity, are brought to their attention.
Through the correspondence columns of the equally generous Kempton Express, I wish to advise of the sad plight of a young mother named Allison – and request any possible assistance for her and her two children.
Allison is going progressively blind, due to an incurable eye disease. She can no longer drive due to her declining eye-sight and has sold her car, to ensure prepaid accommodation for a few months.
But that accommodation unfortunately terminates at the end of February – and then the future looks bleak, when she and her kids will effectively be homeless. She’s unable to get employment, as no-one is prepared to employ a sightless person.
I can only imagine the desperation and worry, for someone who is due to lose sight; and the angst of what will happen to her children.
Consequently, I appeal for assistance from anyone able to house the family, until something more permanent can be sorted out. Perhaps the use of an outside room or Wendy House? Or even an offer of employment?
She doesn’t want to accept pure charitable assistance. She’s living on a government grant which doesn’t stretch very far – but enables her to buy monthly food. She’s willing to contribute to household chores like cooking and even mowing the lawn.
Any assistance whatsoever or advice, would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps there’s someone who can give advice on how she ideally can get access, to some government or NGO residential assistance.
If there is any Good Samaritan who can assist in any way, they could contact me on 071-569-1469; and I will put you in touch with Allison. I’m unfortunately personally unable to provide such assistance, as I have my own residential challenges.
