Hubcaps stolen at Festival Mall

Also, be aware that there is no CCTV in the undercover parking

SYLVIA from Birchleigh writes:

Last Wednesday (January 18) I parked my car in the undercover parking next to the Capitec entrance at Festival Mall.

I was meeting a friend for coffee and also did a little shopping.

I returned to my car at 11.30am but I did not notice that someone had stolen my hubcaps – all four of them.

The following day I went back to fill out a form for the security people, as yet I have heard nothing.

My insurance said Festival Mall would pay nothing, therefore I have made a claim to my insurers. I want to warn other pensioners to be aware that there are thieves watching us constantly, so please be alert.

On this particular day there were no guards to be seen when I arrived at 8.45am and when I left.

Also, be aware that there is no CCTV in the undercover parking.

Lee-Anne Leathley, marketing manager of Festival Mall, replies:

We have investigated this incident and can confirm that unfortunately it did take place. We regret this occurring.

The mall has comprehensive security guards and measures in place.

The complainant will be contacted directly by us to see if we can assist her any further.
