Kempton Park ‘oldies’ thank Jeugland for another super extravaganza

You wonderful youngsters, you are all stars!

BARBARA HEYMAN writes:

On July 16, Kempton Park senior citizens were entertained by a most exciting and colourful musical extravaganza produced and presented by Hoƫrskool Jeugland. This year, the musical was called Mix Tape 2019.

Buses collected people from the various retirement villages and when we arrived at the school, we were met by young hosts and hostesses who led us to tables literally groaning with food of every variety.

After this sumptuous feast, we were shown into the entertainment centre where we took our seats. The show as always was a total knock-out. We were actually singing songs from the show on the bus going home.

Once again, we were all enthralled with beautiful costumes, delightful routines with the most well-devised choreography. The stage was very cleverly designed, together with the most beautiful stage backdrop and this year, there were two massive screens showing singular entertainers in closeup.

It is obvious that this musical had taken a lot of sweat, tears and many months to produce, as the young people involved were so well synchronised with their dance routines, they took our breath away.

You wonderful youngsters, you are all stars! Special mention must be made of multi-talented singer and dancer Austin Scheepers. Wow, Austin! You are going to go a long way.

So from all us Kempton Park oldies, thank you Jeugies for this lovely gesture. We had a ball.
