Golden oldies are going strong

Join them and show the "laaities" how it should be done!

TENDELLA Golden Oldies Rugby Club is still going strong after 23 years.

The club, which is rich in history and tradition, was established in 1991 and was originally situated at Edenvale Rugby Club.

In 2006 the club relocated to Barnard Stadium where they share the facilities with Kempton Wolwe Rugby Club.

Tendella play in the Golden Lions Golden Oldies League and boast a number of golden oldies Lions players. All matches are played in the spirit of golden oldies, epitomised in the motto of fun, friendship and fraternity.

Although they have their own name and jersey, they still regard themselves as an integral part of their host club.

Tendella currently have more than 60 registered players, with the oldest active player being Dolf Erasmus, who will turn 74 later this year.

The club will take part in the annual Golden Oldies Nationals later this year in Pretoria and are geared to continue its fine form as with previous seasons and tournaments.

Tendella Golden Oldies Rugby Club invites all the die-hard rugby fans, past their “sell-by” dates, that still enjoy the game, to join them at Barnard Stadium on Thursdays. Practice starts at 7pm and there is a team get together afterwards for hydration and strategic planning.

All players of 32 upwards are welcome and practices are open to anyone.
