Maphuta slays Ivory Park on penalties

Maphutha Secondary School FC beat Ivory Park Secondary School FC 6-7 on penalties in the finals of the Top Four Soccer Tournament at Ebony Park Sports Ground on Sunday.
To qualify for the finals, Maphutha defeated Umqele Comprehensive School FC 4-1, while Ivory Park defeated Tsosoloso Secondary School 3-2.
The ladies soccer tournament, which was held to celebrate Women’s Day, saw both teams battle it out in the heat.
The game started at a fast pace and it wasn’t long before Maphutha players attacked their opponents and opened the score through their reliable striker Hlengiwe Mtsweni.
Maphutha’s joy was short-lived because Ivory Park received a free penalty after a foul was made by one of their opponents.
Ivory Park manged to equalise through Tshepiso Congwane who scored a beautiful goal.
The game ended in a 1-1 stalemate and had to be decided on penalties, which Maphutha won 6-7.
