The first few minutes of the game were enough for Dumbe United to secure two quick goals, putting the team in the lead.
The first and second goals were scored by Sphamandla Hlatshwayo and Tebza respectively.
Sphiwe Khumalo, whose team also participated and lost, said Sangweni FC’s attack was good but that they were shaky on defense.
Nyoka scored for Sangweni FC shortly before half-time, bringing the half-time score to 2-1 in favour of Dumbe United.
The coach of Dumbe United, Simo Sukazi, said he felt confident from the start that his team would win.
“We performed well throughout the tournament,” he said.
The second 45 minutes proved to be tough, with Sangweni FC struggling score an equaliser.
Dumbe United had to substitute the tired attacking striker Sfiso with Lucky.
Minutes before the end of the game, Sphamandla managed to scored the third goal for Dumbe United, bringing the final score to 3-1.
Dumbe United’s coach said Sphamandla deserved to be the man of the match because he was scoring the way he expected and his distribution of the ball was perfect.
“The tournament was well organised. We won because of team work and team spirit. I want to thank my team,” said Sphamandla Hlatshwayo.
