Another good year for hockey club

The club's annual general meeting will be on October 6 at 6:30pm for 7pm at the clubhouse

2014 was a great year for Kempton Park Hockey Club, and this year was no different.

The MML Scorpions, who won the Easterns league last year, moved over to the Northerns league in 2015. In the first round they ended up second in their division, which moved them up one division.

Round two was a nailbiter but in the end the final position was second again. This position put the team up for a divisional growth yet again.

The Stingers, who played in the Easterns league, placed ninth overall.

The club not only boasts good positioning in a new league but they also are proud to be the home of 14 provincial players. The club’s head coach, Tinus van der Merwe, coached the Denbey’s invitational side at the Women’s SACD tournament in July where 13 members of the Kempton club participated. This team ranked fifth in the tournament.

With a successful year behind them the club looks forward to the upcoming season. Pre-season training starts on October 1 and everyone is welcome. Costs for two-months training is R260.
