Zoe Bibbings won gold in the female masters under 67.50kg division with a lifting total of 385kg. She is also the RPC South Africa national champion and multiple RPC and GPC record holder, and overall best female master lifter for 2015.
Jan Kruger also won a gold medal in the men’s masters under 110kg division. This takes his gold medal wins to three in three consecutive years. He is also the RPC national open and masters champion in the under 125kg weight class and RPC overall best master lifter for 2015.
Daniel Hurlin came second to Joe Ladnier from the USA to win the silver. Ladnier is a legend in the sport of power lifting and he was inducted into the power lifting hall of fame when he was 19 years old.
He was the first powerlifter in the history of the sport to achieve a 2000 pound (907kg) total in the 110kg weight class, so it was no small feat on Dan’s part to get into second place. Daniel won the gold in his weight class last year and he is a RPC national champion with a few national records under his belt.
Last but not least, Willie Fourie brought home the silver medal in his weight class in his first international appearance at the age of 20. Willie is the RPC national champion in the junior division and was also RPC best overall open and junior lifter for 2015.
