Glimmer of hope for young golfers
More golf clinics will be hosted in the near future
STEPPING onto a golf course for the very first time erased all the dull memories of playing with sticks and stones on dusty township playfields for aspiring junior golfers.
Over 80 junior golfers between the ages of five and 16 converged at Reading Country Club in Alberton on Wednesday last week for a nine-hole challenge, all geared up in their petite golfing equipment for a fun-filled day on the golf course.

Veilen Morodi, a coach at Katlehong Golf Academy and an ardent player, said: “Golf is my passion; it gives me so much joy when I see my players develop into better players through my contribution.”
The City of Ekurhuleni has committed to establishing golf clinics across the region so as to develop young golfers. This is in preparation of the upcoming coaching clinics to be facilitated by golfing professionals linked to the SA Open Championships, which will be hosted by the City in January.
Golf coaches interested in attending golf clinics with their teams may visit their nearest Ekurhuleni Customer Care Centre to register at the Facilities Booking Clerk.
