Tembisa gears up for race
Caster Semenya will be up against the defending champion and race record holder Lebogang Phalula, who hails from Soweto.
This year’s TomTom Tembisa 10km Run and Walk is set to attract 1 500 runners to the streets of Tembisa on November 8.
The race will start and finish at the Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre, and is set to begin at 8am.
According to one of the organisers, Mr Donald Mathipa, Caster Semenya will be up against the defending champion and race record holder Lebogang Phalula, who hails from Soweto.
Registrations will take place on Saturday, November 7, at the Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre, from 10am to 6pm.
Mr Mathipa said all those who finish the race will get medals and Futurelife hampers.
“RTJ Namane Drive, Star Street, George Nyanga, Brain Mazibuko and Freedom streets will be all affected on the day from 8am to 11am,” said Mr Mathipa.
