U/10 Kempton side wins Duduza festival
Several players took three wickets in the weekend's games
KEMPTON Park Junior Cricket Club’s U/10 super league side had their annual cricket festival at Duduza this weekend and managed to win all four of their matches.
Kempton faced United in the first match and scored 110/2. United ran out of overs with their total on 77/7. Boksburg were beaten by eight wickets in the second match with two overs to spare.
Kempton beat Benoni Northerns by 11 runs in the third match and finished undefeated on the day by beating Duduza by 31 runs.
The other weekend results were:
U/8A lost by seven wickets against Benoni Northerns. Kempton batted first and scored 58/5 with Neill Erasmus scoring 15.
Benoni reached the total with tree wickets down and Sihaan Singh taking 2/3.
U/8B1beat KwaThema by 70 runs. Kempton batted first and scored 124 with Siharan Govender scoring 26* and Ethan Muller 11*.
KwaThema were 54/3 with Christopher Bennet taking 1/1 and James Howard 1/7.
U/8 B2 beat United B2 by 57 runs. Kempton scored 119/7 with Ethan James making 25* and Willem Lotriet 10.
United were bowled out for 62 with Joshua Hosking taking 3/3.
U/10 A1 beat Champions by two wickets. Champions scored 130/7 with Gideon van Zyl taking 3/12.
Kempton reached the total for the last of eight wickets in the 22 over. A superb 50* by Luke Scrimgeour helped Kempton secure the win.
U/10 A2 lost against Avion Park by four wickets. Kempton scored 116/6 with Dandre Bredenham getting 33*.
Avion reached the target with six wickets down in the 18th over. Nishal Dajee took 1/28.
U/10 B1 lost against Vosloorus by five wickets. Kempton scored 123/3 with Armand Rood top scoring.
Vosloorus reached the target in the 20th over with Ruan van der Merwe taking 2/11.
U/12 super league beat Avion Park by 46 runs. Kempton scored 149/2 with Liam le Grange making 65 and James Enslin 60*.
Avion scored 103/6 with Dwyne Green, Claudio Jardim, James Mendoza and Renier Overweg each taking one wicket.
U/12 A1 beat United by 27 runs. Kempton scored 138 with Zack Smith getting 42 and Daniel Wilken 26.
United were held to 111. Bjorn Slabbert took 2/2, Sihran Sewsunker 2/8 and James Kamerman 2/21.
U/12 A2 lost against Champions by 122 runs. Dian Smit top scored with 27 and took two wickets.
U/14 super league 1 beat Avion Park by two wickets. Avion scored 114/9 with Connor Welman taking 3/19.
Kempton reached the target with seven wickets down. Luke Gunter made 33*.
