Team in dire need of kit for new season
In only two years the side has made great progress
A local soccer team, who progressed from last on the log to fourth place in two years time, wants to do even better this coming season.
“We are currently in the process of looking for sponsorship for new equipment so we can better prepare ourselves. The items we need are balls, bibs and a few training aids,” Shane Campbell, manager and player for the Kempton Park seniors second division football team, said.
“We play under the Kempton Park Football Club name, however, I run the team on my own with no support from the club. I started the team back in 2013 at the end of our first season we finished last on the log. Our second season, which commenced in March this year, was much more successful and saw us finish fourth on the log.
“All our current equipment has been self-funded. Our kit from last season was sponsored by Cody Wesson, the owner of 197 Engineering. Our pre-season training starts in January with our season kicking off in March.”
