Abarondoli FC beat Masokolara FC 2-0 in the final game of the Tembisa Legends Soccer Development tournament encounter.

The match took place at the Makhulong Stadium on Sunday.

Fans came out to watch the finals of the annual Tembisa Legends Soccer Development tournament.

From the first whistle, both teams seemed to have prepared for the match as they gained momentum on the field, although it was Abarondoli FC that proved to be quicker and faster with the ball.

Paul Mokotedi, of Abarondoli FC grabbed the first goal for his team after he received a well-timed pass from Moses Kekana, just minutes into the game.

Abarondoli FC’s players should thank their goalkeeper, for saving countless shots at their goal throughout the first half.

Going into the second half, both teams were motivated to get more goals as neither team wanted to be knocked out of the challenge.

Against the run of play, Masokolara appeared to have no game plan, as many shots on target ended up to be goalless.

Abarondoli’s left winger, Christopher “Tete” Mahlobo, scored the second goal and sealed victory for his team in the dying minutes of the game.

Abarondoli FC’s coach, Paul Semenya, said he was extremely excited to have defended his championship title.

“The pressure was too much because we had to work hard so that we could retain our title. I am pleased with the performance of my players. Their defence was not strong, as usual, but we made it. I am proud,” Semenya said.
