AQUATIC Academy/ESP swimmer Clayton Malaza has been selected to form part of a squad for Aquatics Gauteng.
The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation is providing funding for specific scientific testing for this squad, including monitoring during the upcoming regional and national competition period.
Further technical evaluation has been promised, such as video analysis during SSA competitions.
The squad was invited to attend the first testing at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria on March 5. The testing included sport testing, including anthropometry, lung function test, functional movement screen, medical screening, nutrition educational talks and strength and conditioning.
The centre will provide reports for parents, coaches and doctors to work with.
