Sixteen teams demonstrated their skills in Kasi Diski, while competing for the first prize of R100 000.

Tembisa soccer fans were entertained throughout the Mosehla Easter Games, which took place over the Easter holidays in Tembisa.

The final games of the tournament took place at the Makhulong Stadium on March 28 and football lovers from all walks of life filled the stadium to capacity in support of the annual soccer tournament.

Sixteen teams demonstrated their skills in Kasi Diski, while competing for the first prize of R100 000.

Soweto All Stars FC emerged victorious in the tough tournament.

The team locked horns with the Tembisa strongest Ama-BEE in the clash for the overall prize.

Soweto All Stars assistant coach, Mr Sithembiso Sibisi, said their first game against the giants from Alexandra Heineken FC was tough but they managed to win 4-2 on penalties.

In their second game against Amandla FC, Soweto all Stars won 3-1 and in their third game they won 2-1 on penalties against Ama-Sokolari FC.

In the grand finale, Soweto All Stars won 2-1 against Ama-BEE on March 28.

Mr Sibisi said the team was faced with the problem of absenteeism and injuries in their second game.

“We had a shortage of strong guys,” he said.

In their semi-final game against Ama-Sokolari, Soweto All Stars had to change the whole structure and start with new players.

“The reason was that we wanted to reserve our team for the final game,” said Mr Sibisi.

“The final was a game of two halves. We beat them in the first half but they put more pressure on us in the second half. We closed all the key positions as we were gunning for a victory. They succumbed to our wrath as we went away with the grand prize of R100 000,” said Mr Sibisi.

The winning final goals were scored by Thabo Motlakatsi.
