Victory for Ivory Shakers FC

Ivory Shakers enjoyed a successful run during a recent Top 8 tournament, winning all three games over the weekend.
“Compared to other tournaments we have taken part in, we played well during this tournament. We have experienced a number of recent losses, but we picked up in this competition,” said the Ivory Shakers coach Mr Mosito Moqoboko.
According to Mr Moqoboko, the team’s victory came about after some thorough preparations from the players, combined with a clean attendance sheet.
The first match saw Ivory Shakers defeating Alexandra FC 5-0.
The second game featured another comprehensive victory for Ivory Shakers’ players, when they walloped Limpopo FC 4-0.
Mr Moqoboko said his players were too relaxed during the final game, which allowed the team’s opposition, Baroka, to take the lead before the end of the first half.
“We conceded the goal because my players were not focussed. Thanks to Xolani ‘3minutes’ Nkwitshi, for equalizing in the second half. He was the crowd’s favourite,” said Mr Moqoboko.
The final score was 1-1, so the outcome of the match was determined through a penalty shootout.
Ivory Shakers took aim and eventually emerged the 5-4 victors.
