The Lesibe Soccer Academy beat Alexandra FC 4-1 in a soccer challenge in Phomolong over the weekend.
Mr Petros Sehlabelo, the Lesibe team’s coach, said the game was a difficult one because their opponents knew them well. Both teams played in the same Alexandra league.
Lesibe’s Ntokozo Mayise scored the first and the second goal in the game.
“From the beginning we dominated possession. Our opponents were not organised and we capitalised on that weakness,” said Mr Sehlabelo.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Alexandra FC managed to bag a penalty, bringing the score to 2-1 in favour of Lesibe Academy.
Mr Sehlabelo then replace Thembani Nkomo with Sthembiso Sekakane.
“The replacement was a good move and it worked to our advantage.”
In 20 minutes, Lesibe Academy made a strong come-back. Ntokozo scored the fourth and final goal for his team.
Mr Sehlabe said this game was in preparation for the coming Mayimane Phiri Tournament.
“We will perform well in the tournament,” he said.
