Strong wind blows birds home
Flip van Staden won the young bird race with a four-second margin

RIVERPARK Pigeon Club’s Winburg races 3 and 4 on Saturday were completely different to the week before due to the fairly strong south westerly wind which basically blew the birds home.
Members had two to three birds arriving at the same time and 30 old birds (two years and older) were clocked at the various lofts within two minutes and 25 seconds. The young birds’ (yearlings) 30 positions were clocked within four minutes and 30 seconds.
Flip van Staden won the young bird race with a four-second margin from Sky Lofts’ Corrie Möller. Fred van Rensburg won the old bird race with an eight-second margin from Tallies Lofts’ Tallie Taljaard.
