The Rock crushes Dolphins

The tournament is organised by local coaches and is held every weekend for the players to keep fit.

The Rock FC taught Dolphin FC a free soccer lesson on Sunday, before thrashing them 7-1 in a top 8 soccer tournament.

The game was played at the Winnie Mandela Zone 6 Sports Grounds.

The tournament is organised by local coaches and is held every weekend for the players to keep fit.

From the first whistle, The Rock proved to be stronger and hungrier for a win after their right winger Caswel Nkuna registered a goal in seven minutes.

The Rock turned the game into a practice session for the rest of the first half.

At times, they controlled the ball for more than six minutes without their opponents touching it.

The Rock scored a second goal through the striker Lazzy Mothele, from long range.

The Dolphins were put under pressure to get an equaliser, which proved to be hard as the defence from The Rock’s players was too strong.

The score at the half-time break was 2-0.

In the second half, The Dolphins’ players came back well organised and gained momentum to fight for the lead.

Against the run of play, The Rock managed to score their third goal through Khakha Maluleke, after having received a well-time pass from Ocean Baloyi.

The Dolphins then managed to sneak in their first and only goal.

The Rock scored four more goals through Ocean Baloyi and Wiseman Shiburi.

The game ended with the score on 7-1.

After the game, The Rock’s captain, Lazzy Mothele, said it was not the first time their team won with such an impressive lead.

“These tournament games are practice times for us. It is when we are able to scout talent while on the field. I am very happy with how we played this game. It was a nice practice,” said Mothele.
