Youngsters urged to take up boxing
Ditau will be hosting a boxing tournament in Sethokga Park on September 24.
The former sparring partner of Tembisa’s first boxing champion, Ditau “Diarora” Molefyane, said they are aiming to revive boxing as a sport in the area.
“Boxing is a great sport and should be considered by our youngsters in order to stay on the right side of the law at all times. We want to pursue boxing and produce multiple title holders who will represent the country,” said Molefyane.
Molefyane has opened the Ditaung Wa Molefyane Sports Academy to help young people explore the sport and show off their boxing skills.
Ditau will be hosting a boxing tournament in Sethokga Park on September 24.
“It is an open tournament for all people interested in boxing. We urge young people to come and join in the tournament. This tournament also forms part of raising funds for a disabled boy in Tembisa who has spent 21 years in a bed.
“It is our wish to get enough funds to buy him a bed to assist him in coping with his disability. This boy is in need. We are hoping to reach our goal and contribute to his life,” said Molefyane.
Molefyane said they call on former boxers such as Andrew Matabola and Archie Nyingwa to help revive boxing in the township.
