NOVA fighters ground and pound at fight night
Kenee walked away with the third victory for NOVA
THREE fighters from NOVA Academy showed off their hard work and training when they competed in the Fight Stars championships in July.
“Hard work went into training and weight cut, but it paid off on weigh-ins the day before when all three fighters were on weight and looked incredible and ready,” said NOVA coach, JD du Plessis.
On fight night Luan du Randt made his debut and from the get-go this fight was full of action with both guys giving it their all. It went to all three rounds when the judges scored the fight and raised Du Randt’s hand as the victor.
Nkosi “King” Ndebele also had a great fight. In the final round Ndebele finished his opponent with some ground and pound,” Du Plessis added.
Scott Kenee was last to fight. The first round was touch and go for him as his opponent was a very tough boxer.
As the fight went into the second round, the crowd never stopped supporting Kenee. The fight took a turn in the second round when Kenee put his opponent on the ground and continued with some ground and pound.
Kenee walked away with the third victory for NOVA.
Du Randt’s fight was awarded fight of the night and Kenee’s fight comeback of the night.
