Join golf day to help young cricketers
Maintaining high standards across the region is a costly exercise
EASTERN Junior Club Cricket Association (EJCCA) will host its first annual charity golf day on October 27 at Benoni Country Club.
Eastern Junior Club Cricket Association is affiliated to the Eastern Cricket Union and programmes are aimed at developing young cricket players in the Ekurhuleni region.
They run a junior summer cricket league programme from October to March of each season in the under 8, 10, 12 and 14 age groups.
This is then followed by the winter representative cricket programme from May to July where six representative teams consisting of 14 players are selected to play against other inter-provincial teams.
Maintaining high standards across the region is a costly exercise and the committee has therefore organised the fundraising golf day.
The cost is R2 400 a fourball, including round, dinner and prize-giving. A fourball alliance with two scores to count (blind) will be played.
It costs R2 500 to sponsor the first, ninth, 10th, 18th and all par 3 holes, and R1 500 for all other holes.
