Swimmers excel during winter season

The swimmers took part in various winter gala’s, swam personal best times and achieved various level two and three times

SWIMMERS from McGee Swim School and part of ESP Kempton Park swimming club, had an excellent winter season in the pool this year.

The swimmers took part in various winter gala’s, swam personal best times and achieved various level two and three times.

According to their coach Debbie McGee, swimmers Annebel van Wyk and Bernelee Doster excelled during the winter season.

Van Wyk took part in the Sasol National Championship gala and made finals in all of her events – she also swam personal best times. In Eastern Gauteng Aquatics’ (EGA) winter galas Annebel won various ribbons and ended in the top three in various events. At the Adrian Grafe Memorial Gala, Annebel won four medals and ended in the top 5 in all her events.

Doster qualified for 10 finals and won a total of five medals at the Sasol National Championships.

According to coach McGee, Bernelee won a number of ribbons and swam personal best times at the EGA Winter gala’s. At the Ekurhuleni Winter Championships she qualified for a total of eight finals and obtained a third place in the 100m, individual medley and 100m backstroke. Bernelee was also selected as part of the EGA team to take part at the Small Districts Championship Gala, where she won two silver medals.
