
THE U/10 super league team of Avion Park Junior Cricket Club set a record when they bowled out their opposition for only four runs.
The team on the receiving end was Geluksdal in a match played at Brenthurst Primary School on Saturday.
Batting first, Avion amassed 320/4 in 25 overs.
Sending Geluksdal in to bat, the carnage lasted only 5.3 overs, with Geluksdal all out for only four runs.
The players who took two wickets each were Helgard Stadler (0.3 overs 2/0), Waldo Haasbroek (1 over 2/1), Shaun Nash (1 over 2/1) and Henre Smith (1 over 2/1 run).
The top scorers for Avion were Wian Riekert 72*, Deon Mulligan 42, Stroebel Botha 41*, Wiehann Smith 38 and Dian Brits 36.

U/12 super league beat Champions by 86 runs on a difficult pitch. Avion 119/6. Champions 33/10. Brendan Schmidt 66*, Wikus Arnott 28*, Nico van der Westhuizen 5/16, Johan Cronje 2/3 and Jeandre Byleveldt 2/2.
U/14 super league beat Kempton by 9 wickets. Avion bowled out Kempton in 22 overs for 83 runs. Marco Kruger 3/16 in 3 overs, Michael Kruger 58 runs in 15 overs.
Seniors
The chairman’s side beat Daveyton by 86 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on Sunday. Avion batted first and made 200 all out in 21.3.
Daveyton were then bowled out for 113 in 30 overs. Eugene de Vasconcelles made 92 from 60 and Riaan Swanepoel 31.
The
Colts lost by 17 runs against United at Hoƫrskool Kempton Park. United,
batting first, scored 136/10. Avion were back in the dressing room for
120 in 24 overs.
The top performers were Dean Holtman (3/35 in 8), Schalk Kleynhans (27 and 2/1 in 1) and Hanco Taute (2/13 in 3).
The promotion side had a good 124-run win over Etwatwa playing at Rhodesfield High School. Avion got 274 and bowled out Etwatwa for 150.
Avion’s best players were Dawie Steyn (90 and three catches), Sean Aldridge (34), Joshua Wilken (3/18).
