Tough weekend for junior teams

Various teams could not produce a win

THE teams of Kempton Park Junior Cricket Club had a tough weekend.

The results were:

U/8B1 lost to Benoni by 7 wickets. Kempton 124. Cole Stanbury top scored with 44. Benoni chased down the target in the 23rd over.

U/10 super league 1 beat Benoni. Benoni 134. Divan de Vries took 2/29, backed by an excellent all round fielding effort resulting in four run outs.

Kempton chased down the target in the 24th over with Joshua Shanker scoring 57*, supported by Divan de Vries with 22* and Connor le Grange on 20.

U/10B2 lost to Bakerton by 9 wickets. Man of the match was Gomolemo Makou for his 16 with the bat.

U/12A2 played against Actonville and lost by 6 wickets. Leading batsmen were Tiaan Pryor 24*, Pranav Suryadevara 22* and man of the match, Marek Gough, who scored 45. Shirav Sewsunker took 2/7.

U/12B2 lost to Bakerton by 59 runs. Man of the match award went to Monare for his 3/12 and Zander Swart for his 16 runs.

U/14 super league beat Benoni by 6 runs. Kempton scored 125 runs and bowled Benoni out for 119 .

The man of the match award was shared by Liam le Grange for his top score of 31 runs and Phillip Schoeman, who took crucial wickets with figures of 2/25.

Ruan van Heerden and Unathi Felane also contributed with the ball taking 2/19 and 3/24 respectively.

U/14A lost to Benoni by 8 runs in a match that went all the way down to the last over.
