Avion Colts take on Indian touring team

Ruan van Dyk scores 146* off 62 balls for Colts against Boksburg

AVION Park Cricket Club’s Colts team had the privilege to play against Yuvraj Singh Academy from India on Saturday at Hoërskool Jeugland.

Avion batted first and scored 127/7 in 25 overs. The Indian team scored 82/5 in 17 overs before rain brought an end to the match.

Avion would like to thank Sudhir Twagi who brought the team here to play against the Colts.

U/10A2 beat Kempton by 5 wickets. Kempton batted first and scored 79/2. Avion made 80/5. Tristan Joubers 18*, Jonathan Ramsay1/4, Cameron Chalmers 1/5.

U/8A beat Alberton by 106 runs in a T20 challenge. Avion 180/1. Alberton 74/7. Ewald Haasbroek 55*, Anru Nel 43*, Ben Steyn 30, Edrich de Klerk 3/10, Jeandre Buitendag 1/11, Jacques Hutton three run outs.

U/8B1 beat Tembisa by 184 runs. Avion 210/6. Tembisa 26 all out in 9 overs. Heinrich Boshoff 40 and 1/2, Werno Pretorius 28 and 1/2, Driaan Swanepoel 26* and 1/3, Deluca Martini 26* and PG le Roux 2/4.

U/10 super league beat Bedfordview by 3 wickets. Avion 108/7. Bedfordview 106/6. Stroebel Botha 17 and 2/12, Shaun Nash 23.

U/12A lost to Kempton by 7 wickets. Avion 91/8. Kempton 94/3. Wian Heydenrych 25 (31), CJ Vermaak 22 (58), Wian Heydenrych 1/8 and Rico Snyman 1/14.

U/12 super league beat Bedfordview by 55 runs. Avion 142/5. Bedfordview 87/8. Brendon Schmidt 45 (58), Jay Dee Oliver 32 (25) and 1/9. Nico van der Westhuizen 2/3, Gerhard Cremer 2/8.

U/14 super league lost to SOB. SOB first 220/3. Avion 173/10. Zander Cronje 71*, Rikus Wessels 1/23.

Seniors
Avion’s chairman’s team beat Kempton Park by 137 runs at Rhodesfield Technical High School.

Avion batted first and were bowled out for 240. Kempton Park were then bowled out for 103.

Anchin Sharma made 63, Derick Gevers 31 and Eugene de Vasconellos 44. The best bowlers were Jaco Roberts (6-1-12-4) and Rudi Lotz (5-0-34-3).

The Colts beat Boksburg by 45 runs. Avion, batting first, scored 240/7 in 30 overs.

Boksburg replied with 195/6 in 30 overs. Ruan van Dyk scored 146* off 62 balls (16×6 and 9×4) and Zander Cronje 48 off 28 balls (10×4).

Renco Adams took 2/9, Zander Smith 1/6, Van Dyk 2/33 and André Laats 1/16.
