Good weekend for Kempton juniors

U/10A1 wins tightly contested match

KEMPTON Park Junior Cricket Club’s team had a good weekend, recording several wins.

U/8A beat Springs Old Boys by 135 runs. Batting first, Kempton scored 170/0, with Troy Gordon making 18* and Jack Cannon 15*.

In their reply, United made 35/8, with Siharan Govender taking 2/4 and Guillaume Botha 1/0. Man of the match was Troy Gordon.

U/8B1 beat United by 9 wickets. United batted first and were bowled out for 53 runs with Joshua Venter taking 3/1.

Kempton replied with 55 runs in 13.3 overs with top batsman Cole Stanbury making 25.

U/10 super league 2 lost to Alberton by 8 wickets. Kempton were bowled out for 47 in 16 overs with Dehan Muller scoring 9 and Jacey Labuschagne 6 runs. Alberton reached the target in the 11th over with Marcus Ballot taking 1/5 and Cameron Rise 1/16.

U/10A1 beat Alberton by 6 runs in a tightly contested match. Kempton scored 101 in their allotted 20 overs with a quick fire 24 from Chadyn van Zyl and Malcolm Janse van Rensburg making 23.

In return, Kempton restricted the opposition to 95/4 with man of the match recipient Chadyn van Zyl taking 1/3 to ensure the victory.

U/10A2 beat Tembisa by 128 runs with leading batsmen Keagan Lewis 32, and Vinny Ambrosi taking the man of the match award for his 36*. Top bowlers were Braden Madurai 2/1 and Rihal Kissun 2/2.

U/10 B1 beat Alberton by 14 runs. Man of the match went to Daylon du Preez with his batting score of 15*. Best bowling performances were Luke Harwood 0/1 and Anton Lombard 2/2.

U/10B2 lost to Avion by 5 wickets. Man of the match was Careem Swanepoel for his 4 runs, a wicket and a run out.

U/12 super league beat Alberton by 10 wickets in a 20 over format. Alberton batted first and posted a total of 94 with Ronan Maher and Jarrod Kyle each recording bowling figures of 9/2.

The Kempton openers both remained undefeated with Tiaan Haywood 46* and Sarel Erasmus 43*. Hayward was awarded man of the match for his efforts.

U/12A1 beat Avion by 7 wickets. Avion batted first and were restricted to 91/8 in their 20 overs, thanks to a man of the match bowling performance from Adam Pansegrouw taking 5/14.

Ian Jonker pitched in with 1/11 and Caleb James with 1/17. Kempton reached the target in the 17th with Jordan Southey making 19, Werner Joubert 18 and Reece Winter 17.

U/12A2 beat Boksburg by 3 wickets. Boksburg scored 88 with Kempton reaching the target in the 19th over.

Pranav Suryadevara hit the winning runs with an unbeaten 50. Man of the match was Kyle Skillings with figures of 4/9.

U/14 super league beat Alberton by 40 runs. Sent into bat, Kempton made 223/2 in the allotted 30 overs with Dylan Nicholas scoring 122*, Guillaume van Niekerk 54 and Claudio Jardim 41.
Alberton replied with 193/8 with Connor Grobler, Tiaan van Huyssteen and Nico du Plessis each taking two wickets.
