Wet pitches interfere with matches

Only four games were played

MOST of Kempton Park Junior Cricket Club’s matches at the weekend were called off due to wet pitches and outfields with only four fixtures going ahead.

U/8B1 lost to Tembisa at home on Saturday.

Winning the toss, Kempton put themselves in to bat, scoring 98/4 in the allotted 25 overs. Tembisa reached the target in 22 overs winning by four wickets.

Zeehan Ballim took 3/8 and Cole Stanbury top scored with 31 runs.

U/10A1 beat Daveyton by three runs. Batting first, Kempton put on 98/7 with James Howard 28* and Luan Jordaan 15*.

In reply Daveyton was restricted to 95 all out. Dylan Botha earned man of the match for a brilliant run-out and bowling figures of 3/3.

U/10B2 beat Alberton by 10 wickets. Man of the match was Michael Hubbard for his bowling performance of 2/1.

U/14 super league beat Springs Old Boys by four wickets in a closely contested game. Springs batted first and scored 105 runs in 22 overs.

Ruan van Heerden, Dylan Nicolas and Jarred Sandler bowled exceptionally well, each taking two wickets.

Kempton reached the required runs in the 26th over with Liam le Grange top scoring with 38.
