Three anglers set new records

THREE members of Avion Angling Club set new records at the club’s long weekend competition at Koppiesdam from Friday to Sunday.

Willie Olivier caught the biggest muddy at 1.71kg, while Jonathan Groenewald got the biggest baber (4.49kg).

Steve Mynhardt boasts the biggest moggel at 1.4kg.

The results were:

Seniors:

1. Steve Mynhardt (98 fish, 110.95kg). 2. Rainer Jonischkeit (58 fish, 65.51kg). 3. Nico de Jonge (47 fish, 45.93kg).

Masters:

1. Arrie van Wyk (37 fish, 46.71kg). 2. Willie Olivier (36 fish, 35.84kg). 3. Hennie van Rooyen (25 fish, 25.98kg).

Women:

1. Madeleine Jonischkeit (31 fish, 26.83kg). 2. Granny Marge Sim (14 fish, 14.82kg). 3. Nadine Kuit (18 fish, 9,32kg).

Juniors:

1. Enrico Guelpa (38 fish, 26.5kg). 2. Jonathan Groenewald (23 fish, 17.96kg). 3. Lukas Roberts (8 fish, 7.4kg).

Penkoppe:

1. Liana Haefele (4 fish, 3.14kg). 2. Michael du Toit (3 fish, 1.73kg).
