Bonaero 74 FC wins league

'Though the team did not disappoint, they certainly gave the management team a few heart-stopping moments before taking home the win'

Bonaero 74 Amateur Football Club’s vets team ended top of the league on December 12, after winning their game against Springs Old Boys 6-2.

“Though the team did not disappoint, they certainly gave management a few heart-stopping moments before taking home the win,” said Bonaero vets coach, Hugh Taylor.

Initially, starting with nine players, the vets ended the first half 2-1 in their favour, with goals from Nolan Samuels and Leon Frederick. A hat-trick from striker Adrian Thomas made sure this was indeed a game of two halves as the shackles were released. Bonaero scored four more goals in the second half.

A special effort from winger Noko Noko was the final goal and the icing on the cake as he ran from his half, through a crowd of players, to round off the evening’s goal fest.

The team played nine games overall, with seven wins, one draw and only one loss.
