Boxing club looks for new members

Training takes place at the indoor sport centre at Barnard Stadium

KEMPTON Park Boxing Club is one of the oldest boxing clubs in South Africa.

Established in the 1950s, the club has over the years produced many South African champions and boxers who’ve represented the national team in international championships, such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and Continental championships.

Amateur boxing is an individual sport through which a lot of self-motivation and self-belief can be built up – and it’s a sport that has many rules and regulations, to look after the safety of the boxer.

The boxing club has reopened for the 2017 boxing year and is looking for young boys and girls plus men and women, who would be interested in participating in boxing.

Training takes place at the indoor sport centre at Barnard Stadium on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6pm to 8pm.

Anyone interested can contact Peter Armstrong on 082-485-6640 or 074-646-9095.
