First round of drift champs at Rock Raceway

Food and refreshments will be on sale at the circuit

A brand new start to the season for the drifters at the Rock Raceway gets under way on February 4 with the first round of the SA Drift Championship season for this year.

The Brakpan venue is expected to be an exceptional smokey affair with all the crowds favourite drifters getting up to their usual slideways antics.

The judges skilful circuit layout will test the skill levels of the drifters as they chase for the ultimate prize in victory lane.

Smoke fans will also be treated to a special smokedown showdown starring Peter Steyn in his Nissan 1400 Champ “Heeltyd Speeltyd” as he takes on Braam Wessels in his Opel Monza.

Ignition TV will also be on hand to capture the proceedings.

Gates open at 10am and racing starts at 4pm.

Entrance is R65 for adults and R30 for childen, aged six to 12. Food and refreshments will be on sale.
