3-0 victory for Blackpool
"It was a difficult game and the first half the game was a difficult one. We lost a lot of scoring chances."
Blackpool FC emerged victorious in a Top 4 tournament over the weekend.
Blackpool FC’s coach, Piptso Shabangu, said the team won 6-1 in the morning game.
“Our second game was against Marakalala FC and it was actually the final game of the tournament.
“It was a difficult game and the first half the game was a difficult one. We lost a lot of scoring chances,” said Pitso.
He said the lost chances came about because of a lack of confidence that stemmed from the team losing against Marakalala the week before.
Despite that difficulty Tumelo scored the first goal of the game.
When the referee blew the whistle for half-time, the score was 1-0 in favour of Blackpool FC.
Coach Pitso said he gave a pep talk during the break to ease the players and to ensure they retained composure in front of the goals.
When the second half commenced, the players displayed obedience and showed that they listened to their coach..
“As a result of the composure we managed to score another two goals.
“We had a comfortable lead. We were no longer under pressure and the boys started displaying skill and adding that Kasi flavour to the game,” said Pitso.
Bizza scored the second goal of the game, bringing the score to 2-0 in favour of Blackpool FC.
A substitution was made in the final 15 minutes of the game.
He took Tumelo out and put Donovan onto the field.
Donovan scored the third and final goal for Blackpool FC.
When the final whistle blew the score was 3-0 in favour of Blackpool.
