Chairman's side loses nail biter against Nigel

VARIOUS junior teams of Avion Park Junior Cricket club were in action the past week.

The results were:

U/8 beat Kempton Park by six wickets. Kempton 115/8. Avion 116/4. Ewald Haasbroek 18*, Donovan Stahnke 21, Jaimi Coertse 48* and 1/8 wickets, Jacques Hutton 2/12, Hugo Dercksen 2/11.

U/8B beat Benoni by 121 runs. Avion 189/4. Benoni 68 all out. Hayden Cornelius 20, Wian de Kock 24* and 2/11, Gerrie Beetge 36 and 1/4 , Jayden Vermeulen 2/5.

U/8C beat Wattville by 18 runs. Avion 120/5. Wattville 102/5. Louis Pieterse 13* and 2/10, Louhan Human 8* and 1/11, Jay-Jay Blom 2/6.

U/10 super league beat Champions with 123. Avion 172/3. Champions 49 all out. Shaun Nash 85, Wian Riekert 48, Helgard Stadler 3/6, Warren Pretorius 2/3.

U/10A beat United by eight wickets. United 106 all out. Avion 110/3. Keagan Pretorius 49*, Gustav Schaffner 35*, Marnus Otto 3/12, Tristan Joubert 2/19.

U/12 super league beat Kempton by 12 runs. Avion 170/3. Kempton 158/5. Wikus Faasen 80* and 1/16, Brendon Schmidt 53, Gerhard Cremer 2/18, JP Pienaar 1/17, Raun Riekert 1/26.

Colts beat Wattville by 206 runs. Avion 276/8. Wattville 70 all out. Zander Smith 83, Francois Marais 63, Devon Pienaar 52, Gideon Visagie 29, Dean Holtman double-wicket maiden in one over, Francoise Stoman 16/3, Gideon Visagie 3/23.

Avion chairman’s side lost against Nigel. Avion 117 all out. Rian Swanepoel 30*. Nigel lost a few quick wickets with Jacques Smith taking 3/29. After a few nail-biting overs, Nigel won by a single wicket.
