U/12 Super League side falls four runs short

The match was a nail biting encounter

KEMPTON Park Junior Cricket Club’s results for the past week:

U/8A lost to Benoni. Batting first, Benoni scored 123/4, with Jadon Havinga taking 1/1, Joshua Janse van Rensburg 1/7 and Jack Cannon 1/9.

In their reply, Kempton got to 98/5, with Jack Cannon 22, Ethan Muller 16* and Siharan Govender 12*. Man of the match was Joshua Janse van Rensburg.

U/10A1 lost to United by one wicket. Put in to bat on a slow wicket, Kempton posted 66 runs with Stian de Villiers top-scoring on 10*.

Kempton fought back hard, with Luan Jordaan taking 3/3 and Stian de Villiers 2/4. Some great catches by Luan Jordaan and Tristan Westman were not enough to secure the victory.

U/10A2 played Daveyton and won by 20 runs. Batting first, Kempton posted 124 in their 25 overs, with Neil Erasmus scoring 44 runs.

In reply Keagan Lewis took 2/9 and Christopher Bennet 1/7, restricting Daveyton to 104/5.

U/12B2 beat Wattville by 49 runs in what was an exceptional team performance. Jack Heron and James Snyder scored 46* and 16* respectively and were ably backed up by bowlers Yashveer Ramsundhar with 4/11 and Michael Baird 3/6.

U/12 Super League narrowly lost to United in a nail-biting encounter. United batted, first posting 95/6, with Tiaan Haywood taking 2/22.

In the chase, Kempton fell short by four runs, with Nicholas van der Walt top-scoring on 18.
